#20 Christina Suter-Mindset: The Beauty of Failing Forward in Real Estate Investing

Today I am talking about mindset and how our capacity to fail forward leads us into lifelong learning and improvement. The first step is believing in your investing skills and to never stop improving. The second step is choosing an aspect of real estate and digging deeper so you can find ways to improve and evolve. Real estate investing can and will take a lifetime of education and experience, but the third step is realizing that the real estate field is always changing. This includes laws, rules, mandates, and even new approaches to how real estate is managed and perceived. Being educated will allow you to always be a part of the ever growing and changing market of real estate. The fourth step is knowing when to hold an asset for appreciation especially in Southern California where investors are always hoping for a cash cow. Instead, allow the asset to be cash flow neutral so that over time the land and the asset becomes more valuable. The last step is keeping yourself educated which allows you to remain connected to be able to move your assets along quicker, easier and with more knowledge. The name of the game in real estate investing is failing forward. Trust your skills and trust yourself to remain educated because real estate isn’t just about making money, it’s about fulfilling your goals and choosing a life that is perfect for you and your freedom.
